Reconstructed quilt #2 - 4-Patch Squares

Here we have a simple 4-patch quilt.  This one was done with all old fabrics as well and some questionable material.  Even though it is a simple 4-patch, the workmanship was lacking.  The quilt was wonky.  The quilt was sewn all by hand.  The hand stitches were actually very good with even little stitches.  The problem was in the cutting of the fabrics,  I ended up choosing a size for each block based one the smallest size block.

These colours are also unique.  A scrape bag quilt.  Most of the individual 4-patches was of the same light and dark fabric.  This quilt has shirting, dress fabric, solids and regular cotton fabric.  So many different fabrics, and as a whole they work well together.  The individual blocks them selves measured 1.75" and this is a lap sized quilt.

Though simple, I do like this one.  I would like to re-do this one in current day fabric.  I think it would have a totally different feel.  This quilt is a great leader/ender project and very good for beginners.
