Finished the top of the Jean quilt

Today is the first weekday of my vacations.  I have a lot that I want to get done, but since I did a bunch on the weekend, I've decided to take this day for me.  That means quilting.  I want some time in my quilt room to do the things that I want to do.  So far today, that meant sewing up the Jean quilt.

I finished the top.  I like the way it turned out.  The red grid/sashing really sets the quilt off.  This quilt is big enough just the way it is, so this one is not getting borders.

I am taking a bit of a break now, hoping the puppy will go down for a nap so that I can start ironing the backing and baste the quilt.  That would be nice.  I am going to take a page from Red Pepper Quilting and go simple.  Simplicity sometimes is the best option.
