Yesturday was such fun!! Our little group had so much fun working on the Heartfelt quilt, that we decided to continue meeting and working on our own stuff. As happens when quilters get together, we talk about all sorts of things. We were sharing ideas and chatting about what is on our bucket list of quilts. Someone would reveal a quilt pattern on their bucket list and others would agree. It didn't take long, before we landed on one quilt in particular, that seemed to speak to four of us, and as a group we decided to start this new quilt come the start of the new Guild year.
The time came yesturday! We were so excited to be starting another quilting adventure together. I'm not going to tell you the quilt pattern we chose just yet. I'll keep you in suspense a bit longer. Today I want to share with you the various colourways we all went with. Like the last time, we dug into our stashes and pulled out some fabrics to share with each other of each colourway that was chosen. This was great, as it provided a larger variety of patterns and shades of colour.
This first colourway has mostly medium blues, with some heading toward lighter, but not too light for the primary colour and a raspberry colour all the way to peach. Later on in the piecing stage, you'll get to see just how much variety there will be in these two colours. This one picture does not do it justice.
Some of us were still cutting fabrics, others were piecing. Some of use have changed the pattern to suit our own taste or needs. One person is adding in her own selection of blocks to merge together with the actual pattern blocks and the size of the quilts are different all the way around too....I think... We don't have a schedule or anything. We'll just go with the flow. I think I can safely say that we all, including the one person that decided not to do this specific quilt, had a great time getting together yesturday!
Today I am going to put this quilt aside to work on some others that I want to get done from my list. Later during the week, I'll try to finish cutting some of the pieces for this one to get them ready for the next step.
Take care everyone and enjoy your day.
