Hour glass units and pinwheels

So, lets get back to that newly started quilt that I mentioned back on Sept 14th/25.  The one that our little sewing group is doing together.  Each with our own colourway.  The quilt that we decided to do together is one of Bonnie Hunter's patterns called Smith Mountain Morning, which is in her book called Scraps & Shirttails II, which can be purchased from her website at hhtp://quiltville.com

I've decided to do the same colourway as Bonnie, in the dark blue and chocolate brown.  Since our meeting in September, I was able to finish all the centre hourglass units needed for the courthouse step variation blocks.  My quilt will be king sized so I require more blocks than the pattern calls for.

One of the other members of the group did some hourglass units as well.  Her colourway has mostly medium blues, with some heading toward lighter, but not too light for the primary colour and a raspberry colour all the way to peach for the second colour.  They are looking really good.  I really like those raspberry fabrics.  When I got this photo from her, she was basically just getting started.

She also started making these pinwheel blocks.  These are the centre of the second block, the star.  I love the variety of fabrics she is using.

When I saw the progress being made in the pictures above, I thought to my self that I'd better get a move on it....lol....which is when I made my first pinwheel unit, to check out the size, before making the rest of them.  I now have most of the fabric cut out and will try to find some time to get all the pinwheels done.

There is no real deadline on these, but when I see that two others are getting a fair amount of parts, units and blocks done, it makes me want to try and keep up.  I haven't even cut out all my fabric pieces yet.....I really should get a move on it....lol.

Take care everyone.
